Honey House Book follows your honey from the hive to the jar to the sale:
Today always shows what to do next.
With Beehive Book, our beekeeping journal, on the same phone, your hives and harvests appear in Honey House Book with no typing, and keep up to date by themselves. Sharing is automatic and stays on your phone: there is nothing to set up. If they don't appear, make sure Beehive Book is up to date. Settings › About › Our other apps has a link to get it.
With Bee Forage Book, our forage app, on the same phone, Honey House Pro shows what you noted in bloom while the bees made a batch, so you can name its floral source. This is automatic too, on your phone only, with nothing to set up.
The apps share on your phone only. Nothing goes over the internet.
In Settings › Backup & Restore, Export Backup makes one file of all your records. Save it somewhere safe, such as Files or iCloud Drive. Back up before you change phones or delete the app.
Restore from a Backup File adds back what this phone is missing. It shows you what will be added first, and nothing already here is changed or removed.
A backup also carries your Getting paid details (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, the Zelle picture and your payment link). Restoring adds back any this phone doesn't have, and never replaces ones it does.
Backup & Restore work on every plan, always.
Free keeps your harvests, batches and lot numbers, filling jars and jars on hand, sales, a plain front label, this year's totals, and Backup & Restore.
Honey House Pro adds market days, a code customers scan to pay you by Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Zelle or your own payment link, jars at stores, customers and people waiting for honey, money spent and profit, every label design, beeswax batches, what you noted in bloom, and year summaries per hive. It is $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year, the same as Beehive Book Pro.
If Pro ends, nothing is hidden or deleted: what you recorded with it stays, to read, export and delete. Manage or cancel your subscription in Settings › Your plan, or in your Apple Account settings.
With Honey House Pro, add any of your Venmo username, PayPal.me name, Cash App $Cashtag, a screenshot of your Zelle QR code from your bank app, or your own payment link in Settings › Getting paid. When you record a sale or ring up a jar at a market day paid one of those ways, a code and the amount show on your screen. Your customer scans it with their phone camera and pays from their own phone; tap Paid once they have, or Cancel to save nothing.
Venmo, PayPal and Cash App fill in the amount. With Zelle, and with a payment link that doesn't, your customer types the amount shown.
With Honey House Pro, Add a customer and Add someone waiting take an optional phone number and email address, or tap Choose from Contacts to pick someone from your iPhone's contacts (the app sees only the one you pick). They're saved on the customer, so they fill in next time and show on the customer's page, where you can change them.
On a customer's page, and on Today's Ready to contact, tap Text, Call or Email. Ready to contact writes a message for you, such as "Hi Jane, your 2 jars of Wildflower Honey are ready", with your name on labels at the end; change it as you like. Nothing is sent until you send it from Messages or Mail. Contact details stay on your phone and in your backups.
Every batch gets a lot number that never changes, such as 2026-005. Set starting letters in Settings › Lot numbers and moisture, such as JUNIPER for JUNIPER-2026-005.
Turn on Start with the hive's name and a batch whose honey all came from one hive starts with that hive's name: capitals only, no spaces or punctuation, at most 10 letters, so Back Field Hive gives BACKFIELD-2026-005. A batch from several hives, or with no harvest recorded, uses your starting letters, or MIX if you haven't set any. The number at the end keeps counting up across all your lots, so no two are ever the same. Lots already made never change.
Sell › Year summary shows your year, January to December: honey harvested, jars filled, sales and money, and with Honey House Pro, per hive and beside last year. Save it as a PDF or a spreadsheet. A beekeeping season follows the weather and the bees, so the summary simply counts the calendar year.
With Honey House Pro, the app counts down the jars, lids and labels you buy as you fill jars. Add them under Jars › Jars, lids and labels you've bought, and answer Which jar types use these? (if you have one jar type that fits, it's ticked for you). Other things, such as shrink bands, are counted only if you choose Used one per jar.
A jar type's page shows what one jar uses and how many are left, with a place to change it. Fill Jars shows what it will use before you save, and warns if you're short. When one more usual fill wouldn't fit, Running low shows on Today and the Jars tab, with Add What You Bought. Undoing or deleting a fill puts its jars, lids and labels back.
Labels are optional: many beekeepers have theirs made elsewhere. If you make them here, they're under Jars › Labels.
Each saved label has its own name, so two in the same style can be told apart. A new label is named from what's on it, such as Wildflower Honey · 12 oz · Front, or with a batch chosen, Wildflower Honey · Lot 2026-003 · Front. Type your own in the Label name box at the top of the label, or swipe left on a label in Your labels and tap Rename. A name you type never changes by itself, and no two labels share a name.
The net weight comes from the jar type, so it always matches the jar. Choose the jar under Which jar is this label for? at the top of the label; if your size isn't there, tap Add a jar size.
Tap Undo or Redo at the top of the label, or shake your phone, to step back through your changes since you opened it.
Open a saved label and tap Print or Save. Choose the batch (for its lot number and harvest date), how many, and the kind of file:
Tap Print Now to print with your printer, or Save or Send to save to Files or send by Mail, Messages or AirDrop. Files are named after the label. Before anything prints, the app checks the label as it does in Before Printing: if something must be fixed first, such as a net weight that's too small, it says so instead.
Once a label with a lot number is printed or saved, that lot number is locked and never changes, because it may be on jars. Deleting a label never changes a lot number.
On a new phone, or after reinstalling, go to Settings › Your plan › Plans and tap Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account you subscribed with. Nothing is charged.
Everything is kept on your phone, so it's yours to delete. Delete any record in the app; it asks once and tells you what goes with it. Deleting a harvest that's in a batch asks whether to delete everything made from it too, or only the harvest. To clear everything and begin again, Settings › Your data › Start Over erases every record and keeps your settings (export a backup first). Deleting the app removes everything it kept. We hold no copy, so there is nothing to ask us to delete. Backup files you saved are yours to delete where you saved them.
